I have 2 phone numbers (work and main) and if you imagine that the main one receives a very important call , and I, for example, talk on the second line, or forgot to charge my smartphone, or for some other reason I am out of the network coverage area, then with the correct configured on your phone, this call can and should be forwarded to the work handset.
I think you can decide for yourself in which scenarios call forwarding may be useful to you. And I think I’ll start a story about how you can set it up on your Xiaomi smartphones.
First, go to the “Phone” and click on the three dots in the upper right corner to enter settings.
Next, we go to “Accounts for calls” and see, among other settings, the item “Call forwarding”, which interests us. We go into it and see the words “Call settings” and “Read settings”
After you finish reading the default settings, 4 forwarding settings items will appear on your screen, where:
The first means that all incoming calls will be forwarded to the specified number
Secondly, call forwarding will be activated if the number is busy
Third, call forwarding will be activated if you do not answer the call
And the fourth (the most useful in my opinion) allows you to set up forwarding in cases where your smartphone is turned off or is out of network coverage.
By default, in some items the answering machine number of your operator will be entered (I have MTS), which you naturally must change to the one you see fit.
After completing the settings, save/update the entered settings and restart your smartphone, after which the changes will take effect.

Setting up call forwarding on Xiaomi

Most modern smartphones allow you to use two SIM cards. There is only one nuance here. During a call or receiving an incoming call on one SIM card, the second one becomes inactive, because In most devices, only one radio module is used. In order not to miss an important call on the second SIM card, while talking on the first one, you can resort to call forwarding, which allows you to redirect the call to another number. Today we will tell you how to set up forwarding and what modes exist in this manual.

To enable incoming call forwarding, you need to go to “Settings” - “System applications” - “Phone” - “Call forwarding”.

A window with forwarding settings will open. There are four conditions to choose from under which the call will be redirected to the specified number:

Unconditional forwarding (transfer of absolutely all incoming calls to a specified number);
If the line is busy (if you are currently talking using this SIM card);
If there is no answer (if you did not pick up the phone);
If the subscriber is not available (if you are currently talking on another SIM card).

Having selected the condition you need, a window will open asking you to enter the phone number to which you want to forward incoming calls.

After entering the phone number, click “Enable”. Under the name of the condition, instead of the inscription “Disabled”, the number to which calls will be forwarded will be displayed.

You can set up different phone numbers for each condition if necessary.

To disable forwarding, you need to click on one of the conditions and select “Disable”.

Do not try to set up forwarding from one SIM card to another installed in the same smartphone. This will not lead to any effect. SIM card to which the call will be redirected must be installed in another phone.

How to enable call recording

We will explain how to activate call recording on different software versions.

Standard dialer

We are talking about the program from Xiaomi:

Open your smartphone's Settings. Scroll down the page and tap on “Applications”.
In the new list, select "System Applications".
Next, go to “Calls”, open “Call Recording” there.
Turn on “Record calls automatically.” Below, in the “Record calls” section, select who the function applies to: all or selected numbers.

According to the legislation of the Russian Federation, the subscriber at the other end of the line must be notified about the recording of the call, therefore, by default, “Notification about call recording” is activated in the settings.

By default, the received audio tracks are stored in the MIUI/sound_recorder/call_rec folder, from where they are transferred to a PC, sent to cloud storage or instant messengers.

Google solution

The function of saving calls in the Google application appeared in September 2020 and is available to all users with Android 9.0 or higher. To activate it:

During an incoming or outgoing call, tap the “Record” button;
At the end of the conversation, the received track is offered to be saved, sent to instant messengers or email.

After enabling the function, the subscriber is automatically notified that the conversation has begun recording.

Users did not like the appearance of an alternative because:

the application must be updated regularly;
the recording cannot be retrieved from the device’s memory;
There is no automatic saving of conversations.

At the end of February - beginning of March 2021, the call recording function in the Google application stopped working: it is available in the list of functions, but it cannot be activated.

Do you have coverage?

If you have chosen that the mobile phone connects to a specific network and it does not offer coverage, you will not be able to make calls from your Xiaomi . It's best if you choose to automatically select Network.

Settings > SIM cards and networks > Mobile networks > Automatic

If you don't have coverage , it could be a carrier-specific issue or that the signal isn't reaching where you are. Try calling later or change area.
