You can put it on the table without fear that the glass will quickly scratch. The Nova camera just doesn’t stick out like that. Absolutely all edges of the smartphone are rounded. The corners, glass, side inserts themselves, even the volume rocker and power button are beveled. The attention to detail is amazing.

We tested the plastic on top, but the beauty was diminished by a good fall. Of course, the scratches will be visible, but not immediately; after all, the case is made well, and not made for the most careful use. But, only on Zenfone there will be no scratches at all, unless the user’s pockets are filled with the aforementioned sand.
Zenfone 3 is a big departure from the previous generation, where appearance was the weakest aspect of the device. At least, so to speak, the glass design makes the smartphone beautiful. Let it be seen at Sony and Samsung, but it’s difficult to say about a new design; Asus doesn’t have to do it at all. The main thing for Asus is to do everything as the consumer likes. Apart from the glass on the back, there is little difference between Zenfone and Nova. Also, everything possible is rounded, including the buttons, the same square island protrudes from the back, the 2.5 display glass looks somewhat convex than that of the Nova Plus. Possibly due to the more rounded edges. The fingerprint sensor is not round, but elongated. Glass everywhere means fingerprints on everything. The entire body is stained; if it falls on the asphalt, the edge of the rounded glass is vulnerable.

Honor 10 has a built-in IPS matrix that works at the highest level. - The processor on Xiaomi Mi Max 2 is quite simple, Snapdragon 625. 8 cores with a frequency of up to 2 GHz, performance in Antutu is only 64 thousand points. It seems closer to the solution from ASUS? But the SD625 is made to 14nm design standards and has amazing power efficiency, low throttling and stability. Maybe even better than Kirin955, but still loses in synthetic tests.
- Xiaomi's screen is not super AMOLED, and the resolution is not 2K, but it's quite good. The matrix is tianma, the brightness and contrast is good, the diagonal is 6.44″, which is right on the line between just a healthy phablet and “too crap”.
- The Xiaomi camera is also more interesting: it uses a modern IMX386 sensor with a resolution of 12MP, f/2.0 aperture, phase detection autofocus and 4-axis stabilization. Meizu loves the sensor (used in Meizu Pro 6 Plus and Meizu Pro 7), and this is not the first time Xiaomi has installed it: IMX386 as part of a dual camera can be found on the flagship Mi6. So the sensor is a flagship one, albeit in a single version in this case.
- The battery is very noticeably different: 4500mAh for Huawei and 5300mAh for Xiaomi. Coupled with QuickCharge 3.0 fast charging (full charge in 2.5 hours) - just great. The declared autonomy is up to 57 hours of talk time, the real one is 2.5 days of active use, the charge loss during idle time is almost zero, with normal use it can last up to 5 days (screen)! Huawei can’t do this yet, and it only has 1.5 days of battery life.
- Another plus for Xiaomi - Mi Max 2 has already received an update to MIUI9 on Android 7.0. (not all Xiaomi have already received it), and in general it belongs to the latest generation of models and will be actively updated for at least another year and a half. Honor Note 8 was released in mid-2021 and its support cycle may end much earlier...
- The price of Xiaomi Mi Max 2 is within 15 thousand rubles. (RUR 14,890 or so), and I already announced the price of Honor Note 8 above - it’s about 22 thousand. The overpayment is controversial.
