Snapdragon 616 (Adreno 405) vs Mediatek 8176 (PowerVR)
In terms of performance, both the processors used in the Huawei Honor Pad 2 and Xiaomi Mi Pad 3 belong to the mid-range.
When it comes to gaming, I would prefer the Adreno 405 GPU because it is more optimized for graphics tasks. However, it still does not provide the smoothest gaming performance as we would like.

Retina vs 1080p
In terms of screen, Xiaomi Mi Pad 3 comes with one of the best screens in the tablet market. On the other hand, the display of Huawei Honor Pad 2 has a Full HD resolution, so it is unlikely to disappoint anyone. In addition, it should consume less battery power, which has a good effect on battery life.
Autonomy
To check the battery capacity, the turned off HONOR 30i smartphone was charged with a standard 10 W charger. voltage 5.22 V and current 1.82 A. The charging process looked like this:
- In 10 minutes 330 mAh was poured in. The screen shows 15% charge.
- In 30 minutes, 1006 mAh was poured in. The screen shows 34% charge.
- In 1 hour, 1891 mAh was poured in. The screen shows 57% charge.
- In 2:19 minutes, 3609 mAh was poured in. The screen shows 100% charge.
- In 2:55 minutes, 3756 mAh was poured in. The screen shows 100% charge.
Remarkably, after 2:19 min. When the charge reached 100%, it took another 35 minutes for the smartphone to fully charge to the real 100%. Future owners need to take this into account.
The HONOR 30i smartphone has 3756 mAh, which is slightly less than the declared 3900-4000 mAh. The HONOR 30i smartphone does not support Huawei SuperCharge.
Appearance, equipment.
The HONOR 30i smartphone comes in a standard colorful box indicating the model, color and memory capacity. HONOR 30i is available in three colors: Shimmering Turquoise, Midnight Black and Ultra Violet Sunset.
The delivery package includes the smartphone itself, a transparent silicone bumper, a 5V 2A charger and a 1 m long USB Type-C cable.
Over 90% of the front surface of the HONOR 30i smartphone is occupied by the screen. On which a protective glass with an oleophobic coating is glued from the factory, which after purchasing a smartphone you do not need to glue on yourself. The edges, ends of the case and the screen glass are nicely rounded. The smartphone feels very nice and comfortable in the hand. Case dimensions 157.2 × 73.2 × 7.7 mm. Weight 171.5 g.
In the upper central part, in a small teardrop-shaped cutout, there is a front camera, a light sensor, a proximity sensor and an earpiece.
The back panel shimmers beautifully in turquoise and purple shades, giving the smartphone an individual and distinctive design. In the light the back panel takes on a turquoise tint, and in the dark it turns dark blue. The back cover is made of glass with an olephobic coating and thanks to it, dirt can be removed with a slight movement of the hand.

The HONOR 30i smartphone is equipped with three cameras in the main module: 48 MP, wide-angle 8 MP and 2 MP auxiliary. Just below there is a small LED flash.
The camera module protrudes from the body by only 1.3 mm. And when using a silicone bumper it goes on par with it. The glass of the camera module also has an oleophobic coating that reliably resists various contaminants.
On the right side of the HONOR 30i smartphone there is a volume rocker and an unlock button. The ends of the body are made of rounded plastic.
At the bottom of the case there is a speaker, a USB Type-C connector and a microphone.
At the top of the case there is a 3.5mm audio jack and a second microphone for noise reduction and video recording.
The tray in the HONOR 30i smartphone is combined and accommodates two nano-SIM cards and a memory card of the NM Card standard from Huawei, which is still difficult to buy in Russia.
Thanks to the relatively small case width of 73.2 mm. (in a 75.2 mm silicone bumper), you can confidently use the HONOR 30i smartphone with one hand and easily reach the opposite edge of the display.
Unlock
The HONOR 30i smartphone is equipped with an under-screen fingerprint scanner. The scanner works quickly and without any problems. You need to hold it for about 2 seconds. Also, the HONOR 30i smartphone has face unlocking and naturally it works with varying degrees of accuracy.

Video shooting
The HONOR 30i smartphone is capable of video recording in resolutions of 1920x1080, 1280x720 with a frequency of 30 and 60 frames/s. Video recording is supported by both the main and front cameras. There is a digital 6x zoom. Electronic stabilization with a slight crop of the frame helps stabilize the image.
But it works mostly along the horizontal axis, so vertical hand tremors are practically not compensated. Autofocus is quite slow and when changes in the frame it is in no hurry to refocus, this is clearly visible in the test video. On the plus side, autofocus does not irritate with constant refocusing and jerking back and forth.
Video file properties: MPEG4 Video (H264) 1920×1080 59.94fps 19099kbps. Sound: AAC 48000Hz stereo 192kbps.

The HONOR 30i smartphone also has a time-lapse function. Thanks to which you can slow down time and, for example, film the movement of clouds, cars, stars, etc. Video shooting is done in a resolution of 1280×720 pixels. Example:
*{padding:0;margin:0;overflow:hidden}html,body{height:100%}img,svg{position:absolute;width:100%;top:0;bottom:0;margin:auto}svg{ left:calc(50% – 34px)}” frameborder=”0″ allow=”accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture” allowfullscreen>
Software part
The HONOR 30i smartphone is equipped with the Android 10 operating system with the proprietary MagicUI 3.1 shell, which implements various useful features that are not found in standard Android, for example: design, themes, Huawei Mobile Services, energy saving modes, collection of user actions, etc.
The shell is very nice, beautiful, works quickly and smoothly. Many built-in applications and services require you to sign in to your Huawei account. When turned on, the smartphone requires you to log in to your Huawei account, but there is a little secret: if you skip connecting to Wi-Fi, you can skip the Huawei authorization window.
Top navigation bar, customizable with quick access to various settings. When you hold the icon, you go to the main section of the required settings.
The HONOR 30i smartphone does not have Google services; they were replaced by Huawei Mobile Services. This platform from Huawei creates an ecosystem of various services: store, mail, calendar, themes, cloud, phone search, statistics collection, support and providing tools for third-party developers to create their own applications.
The AppGallery application store contains everything most users need: social networks, browsers, banks, stores, training, games, etc. Huawei also said that it does not strive for primacy in the number of applications, but focuses on the security and reliability of applications.
Applications that are not in the AppGallery can be easily installed on a smartphone via *apk files. Fortunately, your smartphone has several applications that search for *apk files on the Internet independently, for example, Petal Search and AppGo. There is no need to search for and download them from unverified sites, this is very good.
Displaying applications on the home screen can be achieved using two presets: all applications on the home screen or applications in the application menu. You can also enable and customize the quick launch panel, which can be pulled out by swiping on the right. It implements the function of launching applications in multiple windows.
Each application, even some system ones, can be restricted from accessing the Internet and prohibited from auto-starting when the smartphone is turned on. I think advanced users will really appreciate this functionality. Also included as standard is “Phone Manager” with a built-in firewall, Avast antivirus, garbage cleaning, blacklist, etc.
In themes, you can download and change any theme, wallpaper or icons. By the way, in the smartphone settings there is a switch to a dark interface design mode.
The standard comes with two pre-installed keyboards to choose from: Kika Keyboard (left) and Microsoft SwiftKey (right). Both support T9, training, voice input, spell checking and more.
The HONOR 30i smartphone has a built-in function for exchanging files with a computer via a local network via Wi-Fi, which is very useful when printing or transferring files. There is also a built-in smartphone search function. It works through your Huawei account and allows you to detect or block a lost smartphone, which is tightly linked to your account via a serial number.
5 GB cloud storage is also available, where archived copies of contacts, messages, calendar, photos, etc. are saved. In general, the MagicUI 3.1 firmware is very modern, stable, has excellent functionality, and protects the user from data loss or loss of the smartphone itself.
