These days, T9 usually means autocorrection and automatic word selection. On Samsung this parameter is still called that way, while on iPhone or Huawei the names are different.
Sometimes autocorrection is convenient, but sometimes it leads to unexpected consequences. Because of one typo, the system may select a word that is not the one you originally entered, and the messages take on a completely new meaning.
