Price and main characteristics
Honor 6C Pro is another offshoot of the sixth generation of the line, the first model of which was released quite a long time ago. The average cost of a device in Russian retail chains is 11,000 rubles.
Specifications:
• display: 5.2”, IPS HD 1280×720 px (294 ppi); • processor: MediaTek MT6750 (1.5 GHz) + video accelerator ARM Mali-T860; • RAM: 3 GB; • internal memory: 32 GB + support for microSDXC cards up to 128 GB; • camera: main – 13 MP, front – 8 MP; • communication: Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, A-GPS, Glonass; • battery: 2900 mAh. • Dimensions: 147.9 x 73.2 x 7.65 mm; • Weight: 145 g.
The technical characteristics of the gadget are rather unremarkable, but such a low price makes you think about buying the 6C Pro. The smartphone does not have many competitors with a similar hardware platform and the same screen diagonal.
Review of Huawei Honor 6C Pro
Huawei Honor 6C Pro is a powerful mid-range smartphone. In October 2021, the official announcement of the device took place. In addition to the powerful technical content, it is worth noting the practical and stylish design.
Appearance and ergonomics
Huawei Honor 6C Pro attracts attention due to its truly thin body, as well as gracefully rounded edges. The stylish shape of the metal body is complemented by elegant 2.5D glass. The design itself is minimalistic, since there is nothing pretentious or superfluous in its appearance. The metal has a pleasant texture, making the device comfortable to hold in your hands. And with the help of laser engraving, the surface becomes perfectly smooth. As for the side edges, they are coated with a special coating, which creates a reflective effect. There are no mechanical control buttons here, they are virtual. On the back side there is a fingerprint scanner. It is necessary to highlight the presence of a non-removable 3000 mAh battery. Available colors: gold, blue and black. Dimensions: height - 147.9 mm, thickness - 7.65 mm, width - 73.2 mm, weight - 145 g.
Display
Honor 6C Pro has a 5.2-inch screen with an HD resolution of 1280 by 720 pixels. The display with an IPS matrix is not the largest in size, so individual pixels are unlikely to be visible to the naked eye. The viewing angles here are extreme, and the maximum brightness is quite high. It is also necessary to highlight high-quality color rendition for its class. There is adaptive brightness control, which works correctly and quickly. A special eye protection mode makes the picture warmer. And thanks to the color wheel, you can customize the image in detail to suit your own needs and preferences.
Hardware and performance
The Honor 6C Pro smartphone operates on the Android 7.0 operating system. There is also a proprietary EMUI 5.1 interface with an abundance of functions and capabilities. This version of the shell has improved optimization and an intelligent resource distribution system. It uses an eight-core MediaTek MT6750 processor, and its maximum clock speed reaches 1500 MHz. Memory cards up to 128 GB are supported, although the internal storage of 32 GB should be enough for most tasks. The manufacturer did not deprive the device of RAM - 3 GB. The Mali-T860 MP2 graphics accelerator is used, which can be classified as a mid-level GPU. Many games run at high graphics settings with good frame rates.
Communication and sound
The device supports Bluetooth 4.1 and LTE Cat4. The multimedia speaker in the Huawei Honor 6C Pro turned out to be relatively loud, but only in relation to various notifications and calls. But it is recommended to listen to music through headphones. It’s comfortable to talk to your interlocutors, and the audibility is excellent.
Camera
The main 13-megapixel camera in the Huawei Honor 6C Pro allows you to take high-quality photos in good weather. But even in low light, the pictures are quite clear, since the pixel size has been slightly increased. Fans of self-portrait photography will certainly like the 8-megapixel front camera with the “Decoration” function.
conclusions
Honor 6C Pro turned out to be a strong mid-ranger that you’re not ashamed to show to your friends and acquaintances. Pleasant appearance and modern hardware make the smartphone truly interesting in the mid-price segment. At the moment, the model can be purchased for 11-12 thousand rubles.
Pros:
- High quality metal case.
- 2.5D double glass and bright screen.
- Large amount of memory.
- High-quality fingerprint scanner.
- Good front module.
Minuses:
- The main camera does not always shoot well.
- The multimedia speaker does not have rich sound.
Equipment and appearance
The Honor 6C Pro arrived for review in a bright blue box with a large company logo on the front side of the package. The box is completely standard in appearance, like most Chinese state employees. The package includes the smartphone itself, a microUSB cable, a charging adapter, a paperclip for unlocking the SIM card tray and documentation.
Honor 6C Pro follows the typical brand template - no touch buttons under the screen, a metal body with plastic inserts and a fingerprint scanner on the back of the device. The manufacturer did not play with the design; there are only three choices of body colors: black, dark blue and gold.
The device is made of glass and metal; a small area on the top and bottom of the back cover is occupied by plastic inserts. The side frame is also made of plastic. Honor 6C Pro is built very well; we did not notice any creaks or other unpleasant sounds during force applied to the body. The smartphone fits very well in the hand, largely due to the balanced ratio of frames to screen diagonal.
The front panel of Honor 6C Pro is protected by 2.5D Gorilla Glass 3. There is an oleophobic coating. After purchase, we recommend that you immediately purchase protective glass, since the surface is quite easy to scratch even with careful use. Above the 5.2-inch display is a speaker, a front-facing 8-megapixel camera, a proximity/light sensor and an LED indicator for missed events.
There is nothing below the screen except the brand logo. Touch navigation keys are displayed on the display.
On the right is the screen activation button and the volume rocker. The key travel is smooth, with a barely perceptible click.
On the left side there is space for a hybrid slot for SIM cards. Traditionally, one of the SIM cards can be replaced with a microSD memory card.
The microUSB connector is located at the bottom end of the device, where the main microphone and multimedia speaker are located.
The 3.5 mm headphone output along with an additional microphone for the noise reduction system is placed on the top edge of the case.
The lens of the main 13-megapixel camera protrudes slightly above the back cover of the smartphone. A little to the left of it is an LED flash. In a small recess at the bottom you can easily find the fingerprint scanner.
Overall, Honor 6C Pro leaves the impression of a high-quality budget smartphone with a simple but attractive design. It is well assembled, fits perfectly in the hand and does not collect streaks on the body. What else do you need for happiness for 11,000 rubles?
Honor 6X smartphone. Did it live up to expectations?
While planning a summer vacation, the question arose about purchasing a smartphone with a decent camera, but at a low price. I wanted to return from my trip with high-quality photographs and videos, but I had no desire to carry a huge camera on my trip. My then Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 could boast of good pictures only in ideal lighting conditions, and in any circumstances it took simply disgusting videos. I would like to warn you right away that this publication does not pretend to be a “review” - this is just a quick summary of the impressions of an ordinary user who is too lazy to understand the intricacies and do testing, since the device was bought for a specific purpose, it is not extremely loaded in the operational scheme, and even understanding The budget nature of the product, along with the lack of high expectations, is present.
I have outlined the framework, now let's get started.
After a quick study of the offers on the market, I chose the hero of the review - the camera was praised, and other characteristics seemed interesting.
Specifications
OS version: Android 6.0. Case material: metal. Number of SIM cards: 2 (nanoSIM). SIM card operating mode: alternating Weight: 162 g. Dimensions (WxHxT): 76.2×150.9×8.2 mm. Not everything went smoothly with the purchase. After I paid for the purchase, a store representative contacted me and said that they only had devices with a Chinese plug included, and that the European plug would have to wait indefinitely. Since I had a lot of chargers accumulated, and the adapter was not a problem, I immediately ordered it to be sent as is, and the store completed the task assigned to it quite quickly.
Anticipating questions about why I didn’t purchase Huawei Honor 6X in an offline store, I inform you that at the time of purchase, such a smart phone cost about 15 thousand rubles in Russia, and Girbest offered it for only 11 thousand.
1. SUPERFICIAL ABOUT MISCELLANEOUS
1.1. Box and kit
The hero of the review arrived in a small blue box typical of the manufacturer.
In addition to the device itself, there were papers, a charger, a microUSB cord and a paper clip for opening the tray. The phone is budget - the equipment is not rich.
1.2.
Appearance The Honor 6X looks very decent, despite the fact that I decided to experiment and this time I took the smartphone not in the usual gray or black colors, but in “rich gold”. The body is made of metal and plastic, I think it’s unnecessary to talk about the excellent quality of workmanship - nothing plays, does not rattle and has no unnecessary gaps.
On the front we see a 2.5D screen, a camera eye, a speaker hole, a sensor window, an LED event indicator and a line logo. Immediately from the factory, a protective lash was glued to the screen. It is protective, not transport. There is no dirt or air bubbles underneath - everything is clear.
On the back there is a dual camera, flash, fingerprint sensor, again the line logo and information about class=”aligncenter” width=”800″ height=”531″[/img] On top is a microphone and a headphone jack.
At the bottom there is a conversational microphone, a speaker and a microUSB socket.
On the right is the volume rocker and the on/off button.
On the left is a tray for SIM cards and memory expansion.
The device fits into your hand as usual. After a Xiaomi of the same size, I didn’t get any new sensations.
1.3. Filling
Honor 6X is built on the basis of Huawei's own processor, which is called HiSilicon Kirin 655 and has 8 cores. There is no need to be afraid of such an unusual chip - its operation feels absolutely no different from other already familiar central components.
In addition, the processor is distinguished by its low power consumption, so in theory the built-in 3340 mAh battery should last for a long time, but in fact I did not notice any extreme survivability. Yes, the smartphone lasts longer than my old one from Xiaomi, but it is already many years old and the battery has undoubtedly degraded. In general, Honor 6X is capable of working on a single charge for about two days during normal use: constant WiFi, reading the Internet, WhatsApp, watching videos, playing a little games, taking photographs, a little music and a moderate amount of talking. It suits me; I don’t feel tied to an outlet.
Built-in memory 32GB. It's always not enough, no matter how you look at it. Even 64GB will not be enough with a skillful approach to downloading games and taking photographs/videos of everything, but I’m not such a master, so everything turned out to be enough for me even taking into account the fact that I installed 2 SIM cards in the device and thus lost the ability to expand the storage via using a memory card.
The RAM here is 3GB and that's very good. On my previous smartphone, I only missed it on Instagram, which periodically lags - here everything has changed for the better. Now there are no problems with any application.
1.4. Screen
Here you also need to take into account the excellent IPS screen of the smartphone with a resolution of 1080x1920, i.e. FullHD. The colors are rich, the viewing angles are wide, it itself is bright and even under the direct rays of the southern sun it was quite readable. Automatic brightness adjustment works correctly.
It is possible to set the color temperature. In addition, the device automatically makes the display warmer (adds yellowness) after 10 pm, and returns to normal display after 9 am. This function can be disabled.
1.5 Sensors
Of all the sensors, I consider only one important - the fingerprint sensor, which works great. Recognizes instantly, does not make mistakes. Of everything I tested from Meizu and Xiaomi, not a single smartphone could boast such a fingerprint unlocking speed. In my personal experience, Honor 6X is the leader in this parameter.
Light sensors, proximity sensors, gyroscope, compass, etc. They also cope with their functions very well.
1.6. Geo-positioning
Working with satellites does not cause any complaints. The smartphone sees satellites of three systems: GPS, GLONASS and BeiDou. He finds them very quickly and shows their position accurately. During the trip I used this device feature many times and it never failed me. Using geo-positioning in conjunction with Google Maps is a real pleasure.
1.7.
Sound Nothing extraordinary. The speaker is of moderate quality and is capable of producing a volume at such a level that if you turn it up to the maximum, playing the same Asphalt 8 is not comfortable - it hurts your ears. The sound through the headphones is quite good. Honor 6X, of course, is not a HiFi player at all, but for most ordinary users this quality will be more than enough.
1.8. Software component
Huawei has its own shell, called EMUI, version 4.1, installed on top of Android 6 revision. After prolonged communication with Xiaomi phones, it was impossible to use naked Android. Everything is subjectively crooked and inconvenient. Here the transition went smoothly, the shell is beautiful and functional. The only thing that didn’t quite suit me was the lack of hardware buttons; the on-screen buttons, out of habit, were not always convenient, but later I got used to them. I understand that soft buttons are not a shell feature, but rather an implementation feature, but I decided to mention it here.
The smartphone came with global firmware, presumably this is installed on devices for any market. There are no light blue flirtations with local sales and firmware tailored to sales regions that Meizu and Xiaomi love so much. Moreover, the Russian language works absolutely everywhere. For example, voice typing on Honor 6X functions correctly, but on Xiaomi with global firmware I only understood English and tried to recognize and record any Russian words as foreign.
I liked the energy-saving mode that the smartphone offers to turn on when the battery level drops below 10%. In general, you can turn it on and off at any time yourself. All unnecessary applications and functions are reset - only voice communication, SMS messages and the screen in monochrome mode remain in operation. In my experience, Honor 6X worked in energy-saving state for more than 6 hours on 9% charge. Perhaps it would have lasted much longer, but I had already reached the outlet and put it on power.
1.9. Connection
I give the voice communication the highest rating; there is absolutely nothing to complain about. And I hear the interlocutor perfectly, and the interlocutor does not ask anything again. The device finds the network even in such conditions when Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 gave up.
PHOTO AND VIDEO
Now let’s talk about why the smartphone was purchased.
The main photographic node consists of two cameras - the main one is 12 million pixels. Sony IMX386 and an additional 2 million pixels. The presence of a second camera allows you to select the focus point on finished photographs. I’ll say right away that this functionality is crooked and I personally didn’t like it. Sometimes the photos turn out interesting, but more often than not the subject in focus comes out roughly cut out from the background.
I won't say that I'm delighted. There is certainly an increase in photo quality compared to my previous smart, and quite good. But you need to take into account that the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 also has a very decent camera and the quality of photos on that device did not raise any special questions. If we talk about the quality of the video shot by the hero of the review, then it is much better and I really liked it. I think that the level is simply excellent for a smartphone.
Below are examples of photos.

To be fair, I note that sometimes in this mode everything turns out very beautifully, but “sometimes” is not something you should cheerfully tell potential buyers about. Interestingly, not a single reviewer on specialized sites complained about such a problem. It is possible that only my copy of Honor 6X is somehow faulty, but I highly doubt it.
See video examples in my “video review” of Honor 6X:
In general, the smartphone is very good for the money and I liked it. I am completely and completely satisfied with the purchase. A clear increase in all respects compared to my previous budget device, and I’m not chasing flagships - I don’t see the point. I hope it will serve me for a long time.
Would I buy it again? Yes.
The smartphone periodically disappears from sale, and if you don’t find it using the link from the review, you will have to study this section, since new batches are displayed on other pages. I don’t know what this is connected with, but this was already the case when I chose and bought it myself.
Happy shopping and fast delivery everyone!
Screen
The device has a 5.2-inch screen with HD resolution and a pixel density of 283 units per inch. Unless you're going to be armed with a microscope, you won't notice any isolated dots or graininess. The maximum brightness threshold is 390 cd/m2, not very much, but quite enough for readability of information on the street.
Honor 6C Pro has large viewing angles, however, at the maximum deviation, the color temperature of the screen is slightly distorted into warm tones. Adaptive brightness control system is supported, as well as an eye protection mode. The latter filters blue light and makes the picture on the display warmer to reduce eye fatigue.
Display and picture
Honor 6C Pro is equipped with a 5.2-inch IPS display with HD resolution (1280 by 720). In reviews of other devices, we have repeatedly said that HD in 2021 is not enough; all modern flagships offer a Full HD matrix.
On budget Chinese smartphones, slight graininess and blurriness of HD screens are visible even to the naked eye. In the case of the tested sample, this is almost imperceptible - the screen is clear and bright, color rendition is excellent, and viewing angles are wide. When I first got acquainted with the device, it even seemed to me that it uses a Full HD screen.
The developers of the proprietary EMUI shell approached the screen settings with full responsibility: it is possible to select the color temperature and activate the mode for protecting vision from UV radiation.
The only drawback of the screen is its slight yellow tint - this is especially noticeable on a white display.
Performance
The smartphone is built on the eight-core MediaTek MT6750 chipset, its maximum operating frequency is 1.5 GHz. The graphics processing chip is ARM Mali-T860 MP2. To work with applications, 3 GB of LPDDR4 RAM is allocated, and the internal storage capacity is 32 GB (of which approximately 25 GB is available to the user). The amount of built-in memory can be expanded using microSD cards up to 128 GB.
In gaming tests, the Honor 6C Pro performs surprisingly well. WoT: Blitz runs at about 30 fps with medium-low graphics settings. The same can be said about Modern Combat 5 and Asphalt 8: Airborne. Unfortunately, after an hour's load the device became noticeably hot, which noticeably affected the processor's performance.
Camera
As the main camera, Honor 6C Pro uses a 13-megapixel photosensor and an f/2.2 aperture lens. The focal length is 27 millimeters, there is a single-section LED flash. You shouldn’t expect anything supernatural from a budget employee; more or less normal pictures can only be taken in daylight.
To improve photo quality, we recommend using the HDR mode; it slightly improves the clarity of photos. At night, frames are very easily blurred, even if you hold the device firmly in your hands. There are no problems with shooting text; the information is readable. I was pleased with the panoramic shooting mode; the camera adequately captures even fast-moving objects.

But the front 8-megapixel camera is a complete disappointment. Selfies taken with it often come out blurry even in normal lighting.
Cameras and photos
It's no secret that Huawei and Honor are some of the best when it comes to mobile photography, having pioneered the use of dual cameras in collaboration with Leica. But this only applies to flagship models. With smartphones in the mid-range and budget segment, things are standard - the photo quality is good, but nothing surprising.
The main camera of Honor 6C Pro is represented by a 13 megapixel module with autofocus and flash. In good lighting, the pictures taken are clear and with correct color rendition.
Photos with flash turn out normal, there are no obvious highlights or burnouts, but a dual LED flash would have done a better job.
With a lack of light, problems arise - the appearance of noise and insufficient picture clarity.
Shooting at night will not surprise you - the noise will be visible, and there is no point in complaining about it.
Selfies taken with the front camera come out good; the smartphone was a bit surprising in this aspect. The camera's native software includes a beautification tool.

Battery
The Honor 6C Pro battery capacity is 2900 mAh, which is also typical for smartphones with such technical characteristics. At an average display brightness level, the device lasted approximately 5.5 hours of continuous gaming; watching movies in FullHD with airplane mode turned on drained the device in 7 hours.
As you would expect, the Honor 6C Pro can easily withstand 1.5 days of normal use with 4-4.5 hours of screen time. Fast charging is supported according to the Pump Express 2.0 standard from MediaTek.
