In April 2021, the Chinese brand Huawei launched the new Y9 2021 model on the market. The Y line itself belongs to the budget segment, which implies weak characteristics and compromise solutions in terms of design and materials from which the device is created. Huawei Y9, whose price is 16 thousand rubles, is an interesting device. Characteristics
Considering its relatively low price, the Huawei Y9 2018 smartphone has a number of interesting features that can attract a potential buyer. The model is equipped with two dual cameras, a powerful processor, and also has an extended aspect ratio, which is a trend. Full specifications of Huawei Y9 2018 are shown in the table below:

So, Huawei Y9 2021 has an impressive diagonal, a powerful processor, two dual cameras, and a capacious battery. How it all interacts is in the review of Huawei Y9 2018.
Design
Huawei Y9 2021 is interesting not only because of its characteristics. For your money, the device comes complete with all the necessary accessories. In addition to the standard set in the box, the user will be able to find a silicone case, a protective film and a headset . Of course, these are not the most interesting accessories in terms of quality or originality, but they are quite enough for the initial protection of the device. The model is sold in three colors: black, blue and gold.
The design of the device is quite typical. 2.5D glass with minimal frames on the front panel and rounded edges on the back. The sides and back are made of metal. On the back side, in the usual place, there is a round finger scanner, a dual camera and a flash. Control buttons on the right side, SIM card slot on the left. It implies the possibility of using two SIM cards and an additional memory card.
On a note! Today the slot is most often combined; the ability to use a memory card and 2 SIMs is definitely a plus.
There are no buttons on the front panel, the control elements are touch sensitive. On top there is a standard speaker, two cameras, a proximity sensor, and a notification indicator.
The location of the power and headphone connectors also does not offer anything new: everything is located at the bottom end. The speaker is also located here. The model has a simple design and the user will not see anything new. The build quality is at a decent level. Nothing is loose, the buttons are installed tightly, the tray is removed with medium rigidity. The sound is decent, good volume, sound quality even at maximum.

Screen
One of the features of the device is the display: it occupies almost the entire area of the front side, the side frames are minimal . The matrix is created using IPS technology, traditionally good viewing angles, decent color rendition. The display is not very bright, and sometimes in bright sunlight you may not be able to see the image right away.
The Huawei Y9 phone has an oleophobic coating of medium quality. The prints appear, but not too quickly. In terms of the difficulty of cleaning the screen surface from stains, the model is not the best. I'll have to work with a napkin. In general, the impression is positive, although there are some shortcomings.
The settings are standard: several power consumption modes, which affects the backlight level, the ability to enable automatic brightness adjustment, and eye protection from ultraviolet radiation. There is a night mode, it inverts colors so that they do not hit the eyes too much in the dark.
Performance and autonomy
The Huawei Y9 smartphone is a device in which the manufacturer did not skimp on the processor. The model runs on Kirin 659 - a processor with a smart choice of cores used. Depending on the type of tasks, the device itself will choose which cores will process the request - more productive or more economical in consumption.
In synthetic tests, the device scores about 90 thousand points, which is more than a decent figure for a model that is positioned as inexpensive . The gadget will allow you to enjoy the gameplay at medium settings.
Important! The downside is that after half an hour of gaming, the device will become noticeably hot. The same heating is observed during charging.
The battery in Huawei Y9 is non-removable, but with an impressive capacity. Thanks to the processor, which is not the heaviest in terms of consumption, the device will easily survive about a day and a half without recharging. You can play for about 5 hours, and you can watch FHD videos for 12 hours. These are good indicators for a device of this size. Among the disadvantages is the lack of fast charging.
Camera
Today it is difficult to surprise a buyer with a dual camera in a device. For this reason, Huawei decided to make dual cameras on the back and front.
On a note! This is a bit of a publicity stunt that is sure to attract selfie lovers. The bokeh effect and background blur are a very popular feature, so introducing such an option for the front camera was quite a clever move on the part of the Chinese brand.
Unfortunately, the presence of two modules does not guarantee the quality of photos or videos. And the Huawei Y9 camera is just such a case. The camera cannot be called good, since the shooting level is quite mediocre . With the same price tag, there are more interesting devices, both from Huawei and other brands, that will be more attractive to photography enthusiasts.
During the day, the image quality is acceptable, but at night the picture becomes noisy and the detail is very low. The same story is observed with video recording. The model is not equipped with optical stabilization, and if in more expensive devices this is at least somehow compensated by the processor, then this did not happen in the case of the device in question. The maximum video resolution is FHD.
If we talk about the front camera, then the dual camera here is more of a presence rather than offering something interesting to the user. The selfie turns out good, but the background blur works very strangely and it’s difficult to achieve a high-quality picture. Thus, the advantage of having an auxiliary module is negated.

If we talk about the chips of the new and previous Y9, then we can say with confidence that the 710 Kirin is almost half as fast as the 659. This is proven by testing on AnTuTu with results of 138 and 74 thousand points. The new model is equipped with the largest memory capacity when compared with other smartphones. There is a separate slot for microSD flash drives, which cannot be said about the twentieth Mate.
The new Y9 has the largest display yet, but the specs are quite similar to the Mate 20.
On the camera side, the new product is in no way inferior to the Mate 20 Lite, offering users excellent resolution and excellent aperture ratio.
The twentieth Mate is inferior to its counterparts only in terms of battery power, but not significantly. All 3 devices operate on Android 8.0 in combination with the Emotion shell.
