Our rating of Huawei phones opens with the Y6 (2018) model, a representative of the budget niche. Outwardly, she looks quite attractive. This effect is mainly achieved thanks to the modern elongated display, which is rarely found in inexpensive devices. The smartphone has a 5.7-inch display with a resolution of 1440x720 and an IPS matrix. There are rarely cases when budget devices can boast decent image quality, but here everything is completely different. The display shows a nice picture with rich and rich colors; you can only complain about the small brightness reserve, but this is not so critical. That is why this model was included in our rating and beat out the rest of the best Huawei phones.
The performance in the Huawei Y6 (2018) is driven by the Snapdragon 425, which is already noticeably outdated and cannot cope with modern projects. Graphic issues are solved by Adreno 308. When solving everyday situations, the owner should not have any problems, but when launching games, he will encounter low performance and poor graphics. The memory configuration is 2/16 GB, and the storage can be expanded up to 256 GB using a microSD card. The battery has a capacity of 3000 mAh. The Kirin 980 processor is the first chip to feature Cortex-A76 cores, which are 75% more powerful and 58% more efficient than the previous generation. In an eight-core configuration, the Kirin 980 processor contains two Cortex-A76 cores, the same number of Cortex-A76 cores and four of the most energy-efficient Cortex-A55. In order to take full advantage of this configuration, Huawei engineers developed a special processor subsystem with Flex-Scheduling technology, which optimizes the distribution of targets between cores. The Kirin 980's integrated Image Stabilizer (ISP) supports multi-camera configurations and includes HDR color reproduction technology that can control image contrast by highlighting objects in different parts of the frame. Kirin 980 uses technology that removes picture defects with high precision without damaging image details. Another new ISP feature is motion tracking. With its help, ISP instantly recognizes moving objects with an accuracy of 97.4%, allowing you to capture dynamic scenes. Also, the Kirin 980 uses a new technological chain for processing video frames, which speeds up processing by 33%.
The Kirin 980 integrates a modem supporting LTE Cat.21 with data transfer speeds of up to 1.4 Gbit/s. Kirin 980 also received support for aggregation of carrier frequencies from different frequency ranges.

At the end of March, Huawei introduced an update to its flagship line of smartphones. The presentation took place in the majestic Grand Palais, one of the temples of technology where the first escalator and the first sound film were presented at the 1900 EXPO. While the new P20s are on their way to Kazakhstan, the TengriTV editors have tested all their main features and share their impressions.
The flagship series is represented by three smartphone models: the main model P20, the professional model P20Pro and the lightweight version P20Lite. The basic model is represented by a smartphone with a 5.8-inch display size and is equipped with a Kirin 970 processor with support for artificial intelligence. The phone's memory is represented by a module of 4 gigabytes of RAM and 128 of permanent memory.
The main feature of the new product and the most anticipated feature in every new Huawei release is the camera module. As in the previous flagship P10, Leica, the legendary German manufacturer of photographic equipment, is responsible for the photographic part here. The company's engineers took a radical approach to solving the issue. They equipped the P20 with two sensors: 12 MP (color shooting, f/1.8 aperture), 20 MP (black and white shooting, f/1.6 aperture). The second performs both solo and assists the first, thereby allowing for higher quality images to be obtained. But the most important feature of the new camera is its AI feature, which makes photography more accessible and enjoyable than ever. The developers promise more than 500 scenarios in 19 categories.
A simple user points the camera at the subject to be shot and receives all the necessary settings automatically. The camera itself determines who is in front of you: a dog or a cat, a landscape with the sky or a city at night. By the way, for lovers of night walks, Huawei has prepared a nice option - a dual stabilizer - which allows you to shoot dark frames without using a tripod, literally handheld. If earlier a shutter speed of even one second could lead to “shaking”, now even with a shutter speed of four seconds you can get the clearest possible frame.
As for the P20Pro model, here the engineers not only increased the display diagonal to 6.1, but also added another camera - an 8 megapixel telephoto lens with an aperture of 2.4. The main sensor has grown to 40 megapixels. Another important function that will become a trend in the next few years is “slow motion”. The Huawei P20 camera allows slow motion up to 960 frames per second. Note that most analogues on the market have only mastered a height of 240 fps.
There are many changes in the design aesthetics of the new line. Firstly, new unusual colors have appeared in the series. “Twilight” - a gradient shift from green to purple - is the most exclusive option and does not yet have competition in the global smartphone market. As for the body, it is now made of glass and cut with metal.
