Recommendations for eliminating white spots on your smartphone screen

You can buy it at a children's store. We will use a suction cup to level the surface of the smartphone.

Procedure:

  1. You need to attach a suction cup to the edge of the spot. If it does not stick well to the screen, moisten the surface of the suction cup;
  2. Using sharp, but not strong movements, pull the suction cup towards you so that the upper part of the screen lags behind the bottom;
  3. Attach the suction cup to the other edge and do the same;
  4. Depending on the size of the spot, the suction cup must be attached to different ends of the defect.

With these steps you will get rid of the flaw in your phone's sensor. The suction cup can completely fix such faults on tablets, mobile phones and touch screen desktops.

Reasons for the appearance of black spots on the screen of a touch phone

Most often, black spots on a smartphone appear unexpectedly. The gadget did not fall anywhere, did not hit, did not come into contact with moisture. But a strange blotch appears on his screen. Or even several small sizes. Moreover, their colors and shades may also vary depending on the occasion. This area may change upon contact with them. Or be unshakable.

The reasons for the appearance of spots on the screen of a mobile phone are different:

Causes:Peculiarities:
From blows, falling phoneAs a result, defects appear in the screen matrix. Such spots will have a uniform black color when the device is turned off and on. And that will also mean that the pixels of this spot cannot be restored.
Touchscreen sticking to device displayIn devices that have an air space between the touchscreen and the screen. In this case, the spots look almost transparent when the smartphone is turned on. And they are clearly visible when the device is turned off.
Water getting inside your smartphoneIn this case, the color of the spot may be different.
Incorrect software operationIn this case, light streaks may appear. Updates will help fix the problem.
Increasing the battery capacity.May cause multi-colored patches to appear on the display.

Now let's figure out how to fix all the listed problems on your mobile device.

Actions in case of stains

The only reasonable solution when this malfunction occurs is to use the services of a specialized service center. In most cases, it is not possible to solve such problems on your own due to the fact that you will need to have the appropriate skills and equipment.

To check your phone screen, the best option would be to contact the service center specialists directly, who, using modern technology, will be able to perform a high-quality replacement of the display. At the same time, smartphone owners can be sure that only original spare parts are used.

How to remove dark spots that appear on your smartphone screen

Mobile devices have different organization of touch screens. There are dozens of such schemes. And in some cases, more often in tablets, the screens are built in such a way that there is an air gap between it and the touch field.

When you press the sensor with your finger, the field of the screen surface bends and indicates on the sensor which area is involved. Also, during physical impacts, two contact fields can stick together. And you will see a barely noticeable stain when the device is turned on.

In this case, it will not be difficult to get rid of the defect at home. You will need any suction cup.

Another way to eliminate black marks on the display of a mobile gadget

Very often, spots on a smartphone screen are black and do not change color under any circumstances. They can appear even without damage and without moisture. As a result of the failure of some pixels. Most likely, such a device has been used for a long time. And in these cases it can be difficult, if not impossible, to get rid of them. But it's still worth a try. Black spots may disappear partially or completely with pressure. Try pressing on the formation with your finger. If there is progress for the better, then your case is not hopeless.

Try to get rid of it by pressing on different areas of the stain. You can also try warming it up before applying pressure. In this case, you can use warm air from a hairdryer. Service centers try to remove such stains using a pressure chamber. If you have this device, use it. But before placing the smartphone in the camera, you need to remove the back cover and battery.

Cases of manufacturing defects cannot be excluded. Often black and dark spots appear on the smartphone screen almost immediately after purchase. There is nothing to think about here - you need to return to the store and demand that the device be replaced with another one.

Dark spots on the screen of a new phone

Or demand a refund, depending on the conditions described in the warranty card. Blotches on the screen with a manufacturing defect are usually multi-colored, like gasoline that has fallen into a puddle on the street. This also means the poor quality of the adhesive material that holds the touch panel and display together.

Is it possible to remove a stain from the screen without the help of a specialist?

The process of diagnosing a smartphone requires special knowledge, and even if you turned on the Dead pixel detect fix program on the advice of the ignorant, the maximum that it can do is dispel your doubts if the whiteness of the screen is not obvious.

The program tests the screen, including different colors on the screen. By the way, on a white display background, yellowish spots will be more visible than on a bright red or green background.

Someone says that this program can help solve the problem, but these are unsubstantiated rumors. It is better to take your smartphone to a service center for a careful and high-quality replacement of the display module.

Resetting settings, updating software and replacing the battery will also not help. You should not cool your smartphone to get rid of white spots - and such strange advice is floating around the Internet, but it is extremely dangerous for the device and for its battery in the first place.

Disassembling the phone to remove defects from the screen when exposed to moisture

Due to the fact that a mobile phone is always with us, it can also get caught in the rain along with its owner. After which spots appear on the screen, which can be either black or with a yellow tint, gray, almost transparent, etc. If your device has actually recently come into contact with moisture or has been in a room with a high concentration of moisture, it must be turned off immediately.

Water on the phone screen

Then remove the cover and battery. If possible, remove other parts.

Disassemble a phone that has been exposed to water

The display and battery need to be dried. You should not use a hair dryer, as this can cause the liquid to penetrate deeper into the phone parts. Water that gets on the microcircuits inside will evaporate much longer. And there is a possibility that when turned on, the contacts will close, which can lead to more serious consequences. The display and battery should be thoroughly wiped with a dry cloth. And leave it in a warm place to dry for a long time.

In the house, this can be a place where the sun shines almost all day long. Just don't leave your smartphone in the open sun. You can put a thin cotton scarf on top of it. If you have experience disassembling mobile phones, unscrew the screws that hold the case and get to the main board.

If there is liquid on it, the board must also be wiped with a dry cloth. And give the main board a chance to dry.

Screen defects on my Xiaomi phones

Personally, over the past 7 months I have observed screen defects on 2 different brand new phones from Xiaomi.

On the first Xiaomi Pocophone f1 phone with an IPS matrix, after six months of use, yellow spots (smears) appeared on the right edge of the display, see the video for more details:

PS: The Xiaomi Pocophone f1 display was replaced under warranty.

On the second Xiaomi mi9t pro phone with an AMOLED matrix , after 5 months of use, purple dots first appeared on the display, an hour later a vertical stripe, then a second and a third, after which the screen went dark and I sent the phone in for repair.

The chronology of events looked like this: First, dark purple spots began to appear at the bottom of the phone screen. I thought that my screen was just dirty, but that turned out not to be the case.

The number of dark purple dots grew rapidly, literally every hour their number doubled, they formed spots and spread across the entire screen. Already 2 hours after the first dots appeared on the screen, a bright stripe appeared piercing the screen from top to bottom.

It all looked something like this: After another 30 minutes, a second similar line appeared, and then a third, after which the screen went dark and no longer showed signs of life, but at the same time the phone worked, its touchpad also worked, I could blindly pick up the phone when there were incoming calls and my previously set alarms were ringing.

I had hopes that the phone would stay put and work the next day, but it did not materialize. The next day the display did not work, but I noticed subtle streaks under the glass at the bottom of the display, where dark purple dots began to appear. They were very faintly visible, but they could be seen if you looked closely.

As a result of several hours of googling and reading hundreds of pages of specialized forums, I realized that the Amoled matrix in my phone was leaking and the only way to get the display to work is to replace it, and this is a common problem in many phones with Amoled displays.

By the way, on the forums they mainly wrote about problems with Samsung phones, but I think this is due to the large sales of devices from this company.

By the way, I managed to capture the appearance of purple dots on the display on video:

My phones listed above have not been in water, I have not dropped them and there was no damage to them other than minor scratches. Perhaps the reason was overheating, but I did not leave my phones in the open sun, and my phones hardly saw heat above 25 degrees. Yes, I played a lot of resource-intensive games, but I never let the phones get too hot, and the Xiaomi Mi 9t pro cannot be called a hot phone, although the same pocophone f1 got much hotter.

By the way, replacing the Amoled matrix on the mi 9t pro costs around 10 thousand rubles - that’s $150, a third of the cost of the phone, which is several times more expensive than replacing the IPS matrix on my previous Xiaomi Pocophone f1 phone.

What to do if the black dot appears again after pressing

You used a suction cup, this way you managed to get rid of the stain on the screen of your smartphone. But after some time or immediately after pressing it, it appeared again. This happens when the touchscreen on the inside can compress either the insulation elements (if the smartphone has already been repaired). Or if the smartphone battery has increased as a result of long-term use. There are two ways out of this situation: either you try to fix the problem yourself by replacing the battery or insulation inside, or you send it to a service center for repairs.

Spot on phone screen

If you decide to solve the problem yourself when a black or dark spot appears on the screen of your mobile phone, you need to remove it only after turning off the device. Do not operate the gadget while the power is on. You should not experiment with a smartphone if you have no previous experience in repairing it. The parts inside are very fragile. And their repairs in the future can be too expensive.

Recommendations for proper use of a mobile phone

In order for the smartphone you just purchased to serve you as long as possible, experts advise following a few simple rules for using the gadget. Let's look at the recommendations in more detail:

  1. Case - it is advisable to purchase waterproof protective cases for your phone, as they can prevent liquid from entering the body and screen of the gadget, and also protect against scratches and chips.
  2. Protective film or shockproof glass - protects the display from mechanical damage and scratches.
  3. Do not carry your mobile phone with keys or change, as chips and cracks may appear on the case. This trouble can only be avoided if your phone has a protective case.
  4. Temperature conditions. Cold is the worst enemy of any mobile phone, since at low air temperatures it quickly discharges, and at times even reboots. If the gadget is discharged in the cold, then when you come home, give it time to warm up a little, only then put it on charge. If you start charging the device immediately, condensation will form on the smartphone chip, which can lead to a short circuit and damage the phone.

Following the above simple tips can extend the “life” of your mobile phone. And for girls, it will be useful to get acquainted with which smartphones are the best for women.

Why do spots appear on the screens of smartphones and tablets?

In this article I will talk about possible image defects. The information will be useful to those who are planning to purchase a used phone or have simply encountered a display problem and do not know what it is related to.

Backlight problems

One of the most common causes of stains on the screen is moisture . The design of LCD displays involves the presence of a so-called backlight plate, consisting of light-diffusing films and an LED assembly. LEDs shine at the end of the plate, the films scatter the light and we see uniform illumination. When moisture gets between the layers of backlight, the films stick together. At this point the light is refracted at the wrong angle and we see a visual defect. It looks like an irregularly shaped area with a brighter glow. When the viewing angle changes, the configuration of the spot can change - the effect of a 3D calendar is obtained. At some viewing angles, the spots may not be visible at all. If moisture has recently entered and has not yet dried, then the configuration of the stain may change when pressed. It should be noted that AMOLED displays are not subject to this problem, since they use a different backlight principle.

Very similar to a moisture stain is a manufacturing defect in assembly , in which the manufacturer incorrectly selects the length of the screws. At the same time, a long screw rests against the back of the display, squeezing the backlight films together. Such spots are round in shape and do not change their configuration when the viewing angle changes. foreign objects , look similar .

Spots from local overheating . They appear in phones in which the manufacturer has not provided the correct heat sink. They look like yellow spots, darker in the middle and lighter towards the edges. The characteristic locations of the spots are the ends of the display. The reason for the occurrence of such defects is the deformation of the backlight films under the local action of high temperature. The problem is permanent, as the films no longer return to their original state.

Deterioration of backlight caused by failure of the LED assembly . When one or more LEDs stop working, a localized lack of backlight appears at the bottom of the screen.

All backlight defects can be repaired either by replacing the display or by replacing the backlight itself.

Display problems

A broken display shows up as a missing image area. This defect is characterized by the irregular shape of the spot and its uneven outlines. Sometimes cracks radiate away from the defect. When pressed, such a spot can increase in size and change configuration.

Another type of defect caused by mechanical stress is a breakdown of the display controller . This is a chip located directly on the display cable and controls image output. It looks like an oblong crystal. If it is damaged, the image is either completely absent (white or black display), or, what is more common, multi-colored vertical stripes are visible on the display, changing their configuration when pressed. Sometimes the image is missing only in part of the display, and the defect has a clear boundary separating it from the area with a normal picture.

Defective pixels . This is a factory defect - a consequence of the inability of individual pixels to change their color. There are both single dead pixels and entire conglomerates of them; most often they can be seen on a black or other plain background. Defective pixels are dots that are red, green, or blue. Manufacturers allow a certain number of dead pixels on the display, and its quality class depends on this.

Display and sensor stuck together . In modern models of phones and tablets, the sensor and display are often one modular part. Previous generations of devices used separate technology with an air gap between the display and the sensor. When the gap between the display and the sensor of such devices is reduced, they can stick together and be held in this state due to the force of surface tension. This spot is very noticeable when the display is turned off and partially disappears when the backlight comes on. It looks like a drop of water squeezed between the glass, which is why such stains are sometimes confused with moisture getting into the device. Repair of such a defect is carried out by re-gluing the sensor.

So-called spontaneous delamination also occurs, a defect inherent in modular displays. With this manufacturing defect, a poorly glued sensor begins to peel off from the display around the perimeter. The spots are white and are extremely rare.

These are, perhaps, all the reasons for the appearance of spots on displays that are found in smartphones and tablets. If you forgot something, please write about it in the comments to the article. And don’t hesitate to ask about methods to resolve the problems described.

Where do spots of different colors appear on the phone screen?

After using their phones for a long time, some users notice the appearance of yellow or white spots on the display surface, preventing them from viewing text or images properly. This problem is typical for budget mobile devices, but also occurs on expensive devices. The main cause of the defect is violation of operating conditions. An additional reason may be a manufacturing defect made by the manufacturer.

Causes of malfunction

Spots on your smartphone display may appear due to the following reasons:

  • occurrence of software failures;
  • signs of overheating;
  • moisture ingress;
  • presence of mechanical damage.

If there is a glitch in the software, in most cases it causes white spots to appear on the displays. To get rid of this, you will need a full firmware change. An ordinary user can easily use this procedure. At the same time, you should definitely remember that in the event of any interruption in the firmware process, in particular if there is some kind of voltage failure in the network, the display modules may completely fail. Thus, an important condition for successful repair work is the use of uninterruptible power supplies. The best option would be to use the services of service center specialists who will use original spare parts for smartphones.

Moisture getting under the display

It is not uncommon that as soon as moisture gets inside the gadget, a yellow spot appears on the screen. Basically, the backlight of an LCD display includes a certain number of films, an inverter and lamps. The glow of the LEDs is directed to the side of the plate, and with the help of films, the light is scattered and a uniform illumination is formed on the screen. If liquid gets into any of the layers, they “glue” together. At the point of their contact, light is refracted at an incorrect angle and characteristic spots appear on the screen.

For the most part, such spots are characterized by an irregular shape and increased brightness. Depending on different angles of inclination, the shape of the spot will change or it will not be visible at all.

Factory defect of smartphone screen

The appearance of such stains can also occur as a result of various manufacturing defects. The manufacturer may have incorrectly selected the length of the screws, which may therefore rest against the back of the display and compress the films together. Such spots are distinguished by their oval shape, which, depending on the angles of inclination, remains unchanged. The same principle lies in the formation of stains that occur when foreign objects get inside the housing.

Local overheating

Intense heating is common in inexpensive phones whose manufacturers do not position the heatsink correctly. As a result, the layers of the liquid crystal display are deformed due to high temperature, and spots of a yellowish tint appear on the surface of the screen. Usually the artifacts are located near the frames. To prevent this problem, it is recommended not to use the smartphone while charging - this causes additional heating of the case.

Battery fault

After prolonged use, some batteries swell. Increasing the size of the built-in battery pushes out other electronic components, deforms the case and damages the LCD display. Soon spots and other unpleasant artifacts appear, interfering with the perception of information from the screen. In most cases, it is impossible to get rid of stains on your own.

How to get rid of smudges on your phone screen?

First of all, it is recommended to thoroughly wipe the smartphone display with a special cleaning agent designed for mobile devices. It is possible that the defect is just normal contamination on the surface of the touchscreen. To do this, it is advisable to use a cloth or microfiber. Contamination may also be under the protective film - the latter must be removed.

Yellow spots caused by overheating are removed using a coolant. Wrap the smartphone in gauze and place a small ice cube directly in the center of the stain for a few minutes. This method helps some users solve the problem - the defect becomes less noticeable or disappears altogether. Unfortunately, this doesn't always work.

If the stain is caused by dead pixels on the LCD matrix, install a small application called “Dead Pixel Detect and Fix”. The software will help detect damaged pixels.

If defects are discovered after the phone gets into water, you can wait until the moisture dries. It is also advisable to take the phone to a service center. In some cases, it is necessary to install a new liquid crystal matrix. Of course, repair work cannot be carried out under warranty, since the situations in question occur due to the fault of the device owner.
