According to a study by specialists, .apk applications on Android for obtaining root rights are inferior to similar software for obtaining root using a computer (exe applications for Windows). The experiment was conducted on Huawei Honor 3X G750 .
We recommend that you get root rights in 1 click using Rootkhp Pro
As the chief analyst of the company, Arseny Shiryaev, said, such .apk applications as Towelroot , Kingoapp, Baidu, Framaroot and others have no prospects and will gradually leave the market, as well as morally and technically outdated versions of Android up to 7 Nougat, due to that the developers of these apk applications cannot or do not want to implement support for obtaining root rights on Android 8 Oreo, 9 Pie and Android 10 Q.
Thus, in 2021, to obtain root rights on Android, it is effective to connect a smartphone or tablet to a computer and use root programs for Windows, such as VROOT , Rootkhp Pro 3.1 , ZYKUROOT 2.5 .
Program evaluation criteria
We conducted a small study of several programs for obtaining root rights on Android using a computer, selecting the best programs based on reviews on the 4PDA and XDA forums. Programs were evaluated based on:
- List of supported versions of the Android operating system
- Functionality
- Database of supported tablets and smartphones
- Usability – ease of use for the end user
- Availability of an official website for the root utility
Each point gives up to 1 point inclusive, all together no more than 5.

Huawei Honor 3X G750 root rights
Let's begin our experiment!. Before you begin, you must enable USB debugging if you have not done so previously.
Installing root rights using Rootkhp Pro 3.1
The program supports all existing versions of the operating system; support for Android 10 in version 3.1 is still raw, but given that the program is constantly updated, this will not be a problem.
- Download Rootkhp Pro 3.1
- Launch without installation
- Click Root
- A notification appears, click OK and wait further.
- We receive a second notification that you have root access.
What to do if an error appears?
- Did you remember to enable USB debugging, if not, see below
- Try repeating all the steps again.
- Doesn't work or there's an error? Go to the program website and write about the problem to the developers via feedback
Using ZYKURoot 2.5
Full support up to Android 9 Pie, Android 10 in beta mode, sometimes crashes. According to information from the developers' website.
- Download ZYKURoot 2.5 and launch it
- Click Root and wait for the message. Based on our observations, it is important to note that the time indicated is approximate, in some cases it can be either more or less
- When I gain root access, this message appears:
- After this you need to reboot the device
The process took: 10 minutes.
Root using Vroot 1.7.7
The device database was not found, and the program does not position itself as a universal root tool, so we decided to try it blindly.
- Download Vroot 1.7.7. We have removed the link to the application because it turned out to be useless!.
- You may need to disable antivirus programs (depending on your specific antivirus, this action is at your own peril and risk, there are programs that are approved by antiviruses).
- Press the Root button and wait until the device reboots on its own. After this, you can disconnect the device from the PC and use it.
- After an automatic reboot, the Superuser application in Chinese will be installed.
Expert review:
Unfortunately, the VROOT application is extremely unstable. I do not recommend for use.
No results were obtained using this program.
Review of the Huawei Honor 3X G750D smartphone
I have always been attracted to Huawei's Honor line of smartphones, which initially included smartphones with a very interesting price/quality ratio. Huawei Honor 3X (G750D) is the latest model in this series, offering a 5.5-inch HD screen, an 8-core MediaTek MT6592 processor and support for two SIM cards for a relatively small price.

Appearance and design
Huawei Honor 3X has a rather featureless appearance. The materials used personally remind me of previous generation Samsung smartphones: the front panel is completely covered with aluminosilicate glass, the back cover is made of glossy plastic, and there is a silver (again plastic) edging on the sides.
The Honor 3X fits quite well in my large hand, but you have to understand that this is a large phone - it is roughly the size of a Samsung Galaxy Note II. Probably, if Huawei wanted, it could reduce the dimensions of the Honor 3X while maintaining the screen diagonal (as a comparison with the LG G3 shows), but this is not relevant for products in the mid-price category.
The volume control and power/lock keys of the Honor 3X are located on the right side. On the bottom edge there is a micro-USB connector and a microphone hole, on the top there is a headphone output. The second microphone is located at the back, next to the main camera.
Under the cover you can see a 3000 mAh battery, as well as slots for two SIM cards (regular and micro) and a micro SD memory card.
Screen
Honor 3X is equipped with an IPS screen with a diagonal of 5.5 inches and a resolution of 1280x720 pixels. The screen produces a very pleasing picture with excellent contrast and deep black color, which is facilitated by the absence of an air gap between the protective glass and the matrix. The measurements showed good maximum brightness (455 cd/m2) and excellent contrast (1138:1). In terms of color reproduction, the screen in Honor 3X demonstrates a slightly narrowed gamut relative to the sRGB color space. The color temperature is adjustable, its lower value corresponds to 6500 K.
I would also like to note the excellent oleophobic coating, thanks to which the finger glides across the screen easily and naturally.
Software and functionality
Honor 3X runs Android 4.2 and has the same shell as other Huawei smartphones. Its main feature is the absence of a separate program menu - all shortcuts go straight to the desktop, like in the iPhone. Otherwise, Android is like Android.
Personally, I really liked the proprietary Phone Manager application, which performs several very useful functions at once. It shows which applications are using a lot of CPU and RAM resources; allows you to maintain black and white lists of phone numbers, and separately for calls and messages; and finally, it provides the ability to flexibly manage permissions and network access for applications. I don’t understand why other manufacturers don’t have similar solutions: it’s really very convenient and useful.
Camera
The smartphone is equipped with a 13-megapixel main camera with autofocus and LED backlight. The camera takes pictures with a good level of detail, but a fairly high level of noise, which further increases when HDR mode is turned on. In general, I would call its quality acceptable, but nothing more. Autofocus speed and shutter time are average, comparable to the Samsung Galaxy S4.
Examples of pictures (gallery):
Overall, the camera is probably the weakest aspect of the Huawei Honor 3X.
Performance and autonomy
Honor 3X is equipped with a MediaTek MT6592 processor, which includes eight ARM Cortex-A7 cores (clock speed is up to 1.7 GHz when all eight cores are running simultaneously and up to 2 GHz when four or fewer cores are running simultaneously). The processor also includes a Mali-450MP4 graphics core.
In general, the speed of the smartphone can be described as good, but not overwhelming. It shows predictably good results in multi-threaded benchmarks and mediocre results in single-threaded ones (after all, the Cortex-A7 is a rather weak core). At the same time, the device shows good performance in games. In everyday life, we occasionally experience single “jags” when scrolling through heavy web pages in a browser or flipping through desktops, but they do not interfere with life.
But the battery life of the Honor 3X is excellent without any discounts. In my standard mode (few calls, but a lot of Internet, email, and occasional simple games), the device lasted for almost three days. Excellent result.
Bottom line
Frankly, I didn’t expect much from the Huawei Honor 3X. However, I liked this smartphone because of its high-quality screen, good performance and long battery life. With an estimated cost of about 3500-4000 hryvnia, it can be called a good purchase. The only downside we can mention is the weak camera, but other smartphones in this price category don’t have the same quality.
5 reasons to buy Huawei Honor 3X:
- good performance;
- excellent battery life;
- high-quality screen;
- support for two SIM cards;
- The convenient Phone Management application allows you to flexibly manage your smartphone and installed applications.
1 reason not to buy Huawei Honor 3X:
- weak camera.
Summing up the results of the study
Through the VROOT program, our expert Boris Myasnikov was unable to get root access to Huawei Honor 3X G750 .
We give a formal minus to RootKHP Pro and ZYKUroot - for the lack of support for languages other than English, they receive 0.5 points instead of 1, but let’s just say the minus is purely formal, because pressing 1 or 2 buttons in English does not require much intelligence. The information content in these programs is also lame, since there is no progress bar, but not to the detriment of the result.
In addition to the lack of results, VROOT has a number of serious problems, there is no information about supported devices, some antiviruses block the program, the official website was not found, all the buttons are in Chinese, and the hieroglyphs are simply impossible to understand. VROOT receives 0 points in the usability category.
Bottom line
If we talk about the cost of the smartphone reviewed today, then in its own company store Huawei is trying to sell this model at a considerable price of 15 thousand rubles. This is, of course, an unthinkable price for a smartphone with such average, by and large, characteristics, and this Huawei Honor 3x significantly stands out from the series of its own kind - after all, the entire line of practical and inexpensive “workhorses” of Honor was popular precisely because of its optimal ratio low price and good characteristics for such a price.
The smartphone as a whole turned out to be good, but its characteristics are far from top-end: the screen resolution is half that of Full HD, there is no support for USB OTG, NFC, LTE, an outdated version of the OS is installed and not the most advanced modification of its own shell, two SIM cards only work in Dual Standby mode, there is no protection from water and dirt...
The list can be continued, but it’s easier to remember that the same TCL (Alcatel) Idol X and other competitors cited today have much of the above, and their price is much lower. Yes, Huawei Honor 3x is based on an eight-core platform, but in the case of MediaTek MT6592 this only results in increased power consumption, and it is still quite far from performance records.
The only real strengths of the smartphone compared to its competitors are the large battery and, accordingly, excellent battery life. However, this quality was also characteristic of the rest of the Honor series, so this should not have significantly increased the cost of this model.
Huawei Honor 3x is extremely overpriced and that's it. Fans of this line can only wait for a speedy reduction in the price of the selected device or turn their attention to other more affordable models in the series, and once again we can only wish Huawei to moderate its price appetites, otherwise the most popular series of “people’s” smartphones, Honor, will very quickly start lose popularity. At this price you can now find many more advanced smartphones in all characteristics, including more famous brands.
